I also take it that we'll have new instructions or tips on how to tune, right?

I also just sent my ELF back to get fixed last Thursday. Are you guys going to fix them right away, or are you still finalizing the chip?

I also have this particular version. I got the whole kit used, and I haven't installed it yet. I'm wondering what to expect with altitude. Is this something to be upgraded or not?

Well, after waiting days for a response to what my chip number is I went ahead last night and placed my order for an upgraded chip. Lets see what happens.

I got an e-mail update from James—he’s been very busy on the S2000 project, but his programmer is working on the revised ELF. The new chips and boards aren’t quite ready yet, but...the programmer is supposed to deliver a new chip this week for testing. The good news is the chip they're testing includes an extra injector controller--not guaranteed to be included, but if it works, they hope to include that feature in all our revised ELFs. So keep the faith!

The extra injector controller would be awesome! That would be worth waiting for (if it's only a few more weeks Sad). They're not planning on giving this revised chip to all of the test guys so we have to wait another 3 months are they? I sent my ELF in hoping that it would be sent back at least within a month.

The S2000 kit should be finalized and on a couple cars within 7-10 days. I suspect James will get right on the ELF issues soon there after.

Are the pots configured to control the 5th injector? Software control? It would be nice to finally use that USB port. Smile Logging would be really nice. Wink

Anything on the SOT side regarding the ELF ? We completed the order form a long ago and haven't received a single email or acknowledgement yet.

I am almost done installing my kit, spring is coming and I want my little ELF friend to work just fine as it must.

Thanks guys !

Your best bet is to call SOT and ask for James or Jeff. They will for sure tell you what's going on.

Well gents, I did hear from SOT regarding the ELF problems. All I'll say is there is trouble in paradise. Anyone waiting for the fix may have to find alternative fueling measures if your Miata is going anywhere this summer.

So, what is going to be done for us that have the ELF and never got a chance to use it? Mine has been sitting on a shelf for the last 16 months! That is one expensive paperweight.

I have to second the PCPro comment. It works great with the BRP system and is available now.

" Duh" I think you miss the point. We've been led to believe that it was only a chip and/or a board away, not dead. I'd still like to hear from the programming guru that made this work on some equipment but failed so miserably on devices made weeks apart. Yes, I can afford a PC Pro and may go that way but would like to get what I already paid for if it was just a program issue.

the "duh" wasn't aimed at you.... Smile

I also have an Elf sitting in my toolbox and I just can't bring myself to even give it away for free. I'd hate to be responsible for any damage it could do. Yes, I had it in my car for a couple months and it did work (luckily), but occasionally for no reason it would just allow the injectors to dump fuel and my A/F would go to <9:1. I guess I was extremely lucky in that it didn't go the other way......

I just can't believe that BRP/SOT/Barker or whatever they are called now farted around with the silly Elf for so long when there are so many other fully functional products out there.

Good luck Scrapman!
